Last week during my Pages of My Book writing workshop last week one of my students asked me how do you get over writer's block. My response was to keep writing; write anything even if it's poetry and you don't consider yourself a poet. As long as you keep writing and reading you'll not only learn more about writing but you might even come up with an idea while working on a writing exercise.
I got the idea for my book, Bait while working on an exercise at a writing workshop where I was working as a mentor. Now years later I am on my way to finally finishing my book.
If you have writer's block the best thing to do is just keep writing! Write anything even if you're just writing in a diary or journal and before you know it, the writer's block will vanish and new ideas will appear!
