It's another year and now it's time to get your novel finished. Don't worry if you didn't reach last year's goals; the point is to just keep moving it forward. I felt bad that instead of completing my novel I was in bed with a nasty cold over winter break, an entire week of writing wasted just because of a nasty cold. What do you do when you don't reach your goals? Do you just give up? Throw in the towel? Of course not! As writers life often gets in the way of our writing. You can see that as a good thing because it's our life experiences that makes us better writers.
My new goal is to complete my third and fourth draft/ polish by the end of this month, then the manuscript will go out to my readers. After I get their notes I will complete the fifth draft before I send the it to my aunt for proofreading. After that I'll send out the queries in hopes of attracting an agent. While I wait for the manuscript to be proofed I plan to embark on my "alien girl" novel and outline a script I've wanted to work on for some time. It's always a good idea to have the next project in mind as you embark on completing your book. Remember to always keep writing.
