Today I plan to work on a screenplay while I send my fourth draft of my manuscript, Bait out to my readers. I know that it may take them a long time to read a 300 page document. My goal is to give them a month or two to read it and while they are reading it I am going to embark on a new project - a screenplay.
Tomorrow I will write about writing screenplays just in case anyone is interested. The project I am currently working on is an action film in the vein of the Jamie Fox, Tom Cruise movie Collateral. I love those films when the "little guy" has to rise up against the powers that be and save the day. After I get my beat sheet/outline worked out, I will start working on my second book project.
What project do you have in mind for your next project? I like keeping ideas running around in my head because if the project you're working on doesn't "sell" or get noticed then maybe my next project will but that will only happen if I actually work on the new project instead of worrying about the one that didn't take off. So start thinking about what goals you want to reach this year with your writing. I plan on finishing my novel before the summer, that means sending it out to be proofread by a professional before I start submitting it to agents.
Next, I plan to finish the screenplay and by the end of summer write the first draft of my second book. That is unless something great is happening with the current book. If that happens then I'll only work on Bait.
Happy Writing!
