Choosing a Topic for your Story

The writing prompts that are posted are meant to keep you writing every day.  It's the constant writing and
reading that makes you a better writer.  Never worry about if your story is going to be a bestseller.  
I don't think anyone an really predict the success or failure the project your writing because people are 
interested in a wide range of things.  Just write what you are passionate about.  

The one thing I've learned from my years of teaching teenagers writing is that the themes in the stories 
they write tend to be the same. Teens write about love, relationships, and finding their power as 
young people and guess what?  If you look at the all the best sellers those elements all exist in those 
stories.  It doesn't matter if the story is about vampires, fallen angels, or even a boy who wants to be a 
great witch.  Any story can be a bestseller.


What makes a story a success is the passion behind writing it and writing every day helps you become a 
better writer.  It doesn't matter if one day you're writing a poem and or if you're writing a short story,
just write every day and soon everything else will just fall into place.
