Now that I am awaiting my following let me tell you about my writing. I am on the second draft of my novel. Right now I am a third of the way through. I realize that I need to focus on writing each day even if it's just one hour.
My story is writing itself in a way. I love strong female characters ever since I met Princess Leia and Ripley saved everyone from the aliens. No longer do women have to twist their ankles and wait to be carried to safety by a man. Heck, they can do the carrying. Alex is that type of person. Alex is the protagonist in my novel. She's determined to find her friend after she goes missing. No one can stop her and she's going to do whatever it takes to find her.
Once you create a character with real fears but a solid dream that they want to achieve somehow they tell you what you need. Really, I can be driving in my car and I hear her have a conversation with her dad or her best friend. Sometimes I have to pull over and scribble it down before I forget what she's said and I use it later on. When the writing is flowing you go with it.
Even the poetry and picture prompts can help with your novel. The point is to write every day and keep your creativity flowing.
